Ruth Lande Shuman to be honored as a Living Landmark by the New York Landmarks Conservancy!
October 11, 2018
We are thrilled that Ruth is being honored by the New York Landmarks Conservancy on November 1! They’re recognizing Publicolor’s work using color and design to transform the message of disrespect found in the built environments of low-income neighborhoods. An award-winning industrial designer with a specialty in the psychological effects of color, Ruth has spearheaded the revitalization of over 500 New York City public schools and under-resourced community facilities since the organization’s founding in 1996. Publicolor takes pride in painting dignity, respect, joy and inspiration, especially in underserved communities where people experience the many deprivations of poverty.
Congratulations to all the honorees this year!
And kudos to the New York Landmarks Conservancy for ensuring New Yorkers are surrounded by physical beauty year after year.
